Die ersten Siedlungen gehen auf die Osker zur\u00fcck, ein antikes italisches Volk, das diese Berge bereits im 5. Jahrhundert v. Chr. bewohnte. Zahlreiche Fundst\u00fccke, die in den Ortschaften Radicosa und Ponte sowie in der Grotta di Santa Barbara entdeckt wurden, belegen zudem die sp\u00e4tere Anwesenheit der R\u00f6mer.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"381\" data-end=\"777\">Dank seiner strategischen Lage in den Monti Lattari wurde Agerola im Laufe der Jahrhunderte zu einem sicheren Zufluchtsort f\u00fcr Bev\u00f6lkerungsgruppen, die vor den barbarischen Invasionen, den \u00dcberf\u00e4llen der Sarazenen und den Angriffen auf die Amalfik\u00fcste flohen. Dieser stetige Zustrom von Menschen trug zum Wachstum des Ortes bei und bereicherte seine Kultur, seine Traditionen und seine Identit\u00e4t.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"779\" data-end=\"1162\">Im Mittelalter war der Ort eng mit dem Wohlstand der Seerepublik Amalfi verbunden, mit der er intensive Handelsbeziehungen entwickelte. Agerola etablierte sich als bedeutendes Landwirtschafts- und Produktionszentrum und war f\u00fcr Milch und K\u00e4se, Wolle, Holz, Holzkohle, Rosenwasser, Seide und Wurstwaren bekannt. Diese Erzeugnisse gelangten sogar bis an den Hof des K\u00f6nigreichs Neapel.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1164\" data-end=\"1622\">In den folgenden Jahrhunderten stand Agerola unter normannischer, angevinischer, aragonesischer, spanischer und bourbonischer Herrschaft. Zeiten des Wohlstands wechselten sich mit Hungersn\u00f6ten, Epidemien, Erdbeben und einer hohen Steuerlast ab. Trotz aller Schwierigkeiten bewahrte die Gemeinschaft ihre eigene Identit\u00e4t und hielt die landwirtschaftlichen und pastoralen T\u00e4tigkeiten lebendig, die noch heute zu den wichtigsten Reicht\u00fcmern des Gebiets z\u00e4hlen.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1624\" data-end=\"1964\">Ein bedeutender Wendepunkt kam im 19. Jahrhundert mit dem Bau des Palombelle-Tunnels und der ersten befahrbaren Stra\u00dfen. Diese beendeten die lange Isolation des Ortes und verbesserten die Verbindungen zur Amalfik\u00fcste sowie zum Gebiet Agro Nocerino-Sarnese, wodurch der Weg f\u00fcr die wirtschaftliche und touristische Entwicklung geebnet wurde.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1966\" data-end=\"2418\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Heute bewahrt Agerola voller Stolz sein historisches, kulturelles und gastronomisches Erbe. Wegen seines k\u00fchlen Klimas und seiner \u00fcppigen Weiden ist der Ort als die \u201eKleine Schweiz Kampaniens\u201c bekannt. Ber\u00fchmt ist Agerola f\u00fcr seine kulinarischen Spitzenprodukte wie den Provolone del Monaco DOP. Zudem gilt der Ort als wichtigster Zugang zum ber\u00fchmten Sentiero degli Dei, dem \u201ePfad der G\u00f6tter\u201c, einem der eindrucksvollsten Panoramawege der Amalfik\u00fcste.<\/p>\n<\/div><div
